To enable an individual to effectively comply with their duties under the Work at Height Regulations.PASMA Work at Height (Novice) is the training course you need to get up to speed on the basics of height safety. Spend half a day at our approved PASMA training centre with an expert instructor and go back to work knowing:

What access equipment is available
What training and guidance is available for working at height
Although it’s a PASMA course, it’s not all about mobile access towers. It covers the whole range of access equipment, thanks to specialist input from our friends in the Access Industry Forum. There is no practical work involved in this course; it’s all classroom-based theory. No hard hats or tower climbing required!

Assessment:
Closed book course with a pass mark of 80%

Course content:
Current Legislation, Regulations and Guidance affecting work at height In this theory-based course, you will learn about:
Law, regulations, guidance and good practice relating to work at height
An employee’s responsibilities
What guidance and training is available
Risk assessments
Emergency and rescue planning
Inspecting equipment
Where to find crucial safety information
Different types of access equipment
Selecting appropriate access equipment
Personal Protection Equipment
Working on roofs
Fragile surfaces
Fall protection
Instructor delegate ratio:
Maximum of 1:12
Venue requirements:
A suitable classroom to accommodate 12 delegates for the theory and assessment sessions.
Supporting Documents:
A course content and notes booklet and a current Code of Practice booklet will be issued to all delegates who attend the course
Award:
A PASMA certificate and PhotoCard will be issued to successful delegates who complete the theory and assessment sessions at the level they attend the course which has a five year validity period
Literacy, Fitness & Health:

Since the safe use of mobile towers requires that you consult safety notices and read and thoroughly understand the manufacture’s instruction manual, literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any tower user. Similarly, since the assembly and use of mobile access towers can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights / vertigo, giddiness / difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.
If delegates have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have any If delegates have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have any attention of their employer. This need not preclude them from using mobile access towers, provided their employer conducts an assessment and is able to put into place adequate measures, to take account of any difficulties they may have.

No qualifications or experience are required for this course.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Where a firm booking is subsequently cancelled, The Company reserves the right to apply the following charges: if the cancellation is made up to 7 days before the course start date, 50% of the fee; 3 days or less before the course start date, the full fee. If any cancellations are made when you purchased through our website we have to pass on the cancellation fee of £15.00 per course. Cancellations will only be accepted in writing. The date that the Company receives the cancellation will be regarded as the date the cancellation has been made and appropriate charges will apply. However, substitutions may be made at any time prior to the course start date.
Skyward Training Ltd, reserves the right to cancel a training course at any time due to unforseen circumstances. Should a course be cancelled, alternative dates will be offered or a full refund given.
